After 800 Days...

SOLD!

No, the two zeros in the title of this post were not made in error.  Our home was quite literally on the market for 800 days.  Our realtor is a friend of ours from church, and we are grateful she stuck with us during this process.  She confided in me that many people will take their home off the market and re-list their home with another realtor for much less money.  And while we honestly thought about taking our home off the market for a while and possibly going with another company, we remained loyal to our realtor.  I'm not saying 800 days was easy, in fact, I think the "for sale" sign in our front yard might be growing roots....  We spent a few hours house-hunting with our realtor the other day (to no avail), and when I thanked her for sticking with us and selling our house, she said, "I didn't sell it.  God did."  Yes, Miss Lisa, He did...through you. :O)

When Darin and I put our home on the market over two years ago, we did so after much prayer.  We felt that God wanted us to put our home on the market, and we still feel that He called us to do so at that time.  So why didn't it sell right away?  Because God was glorified through this process.  Only when Darin got a new job and finished out his old job, did we actually sell.  Like three days later.  That's totally a God thing.  Had we sold sooner, we would have purchased a new home in the community where our old church is located, and then we would have to sell again to move to our new church community.

Many times throughout this process we felt like pulling our hair out, and wound up praying harder and relying more on God.  There were times of doubt.  There were times of frustration.  There were times of rushing out the door and cramming things in our cars to make our house look clutter free.  But in the end, we always turned to God; venting our frustrations, and ultimately, learning to trust that His hand was in the process and we would sell when He saw fit.

Now, we will start packing.  We have to be out of our house by July 31st.  Definitely a double move.  We're not sure where we are moving to in the time being, but we know God will take care of us.  Plenty of family and friends (and our realtor, too!) have offered to have us stay with them.  We certainly feel loved and blessed.

Glory to God and his ultimate plan!  And the church sign I saw quite a few times during the process..."Patience is trusting in God's timing."  Wherever you are in your life, remember to trust in His timing, even when it's difficult.
