One Month

My sweet Owen, you are one month old!  I can't believe how much you've grown in just one month!  

Birth stats

Weight: 7 lbs, 4 oz.

Length: 19 3/4 inches

Weight: 8 lbs, 14 oz.

Length: 21 1/2 inches

You make the cutest little "o" face whenever you are hungry; it is absolutely precious.  We call you "Mr. Snuggles" because you love to be held upright on our shoulders, with your legs scrunched up under your tummy.  You had some jaundice when you were born, and by the peak day, your jaundice level was 10.2.  You did not need any treatment because your level was under 11.  However, you did have quite the tan for a couple weeks!  Because of the jaundice, you have been very sleepy.  We rarely see you with your eyes open.  You have had some trouble nursing, swallowing, and spitting up.  Sometimes you make this gurgle sound, as if you are choking on your milk, and it scares us!  You also spit up quite often, which means lots of outfit changes for all of us (and extra laundry, too!).  We went to the doctor four times this month because you had trouble getting back up to your birth weight, but you are doing much better now!  Tummy time doesn't bother you a bit because you usually fall asleep during it.  You rolled over for the first time from your tummy to your back when you were 8 days old.  On your one month birthday, you rolled over three times!  Big Brother Jonathan absolutely loves you.  He wants to hold you all the time, and he even assisted with a diaper change!
